The Director of Marketing and Communications will oversee all communications and publications of the Renaissance Performing Arts Association, Inc. These responsibilities include:

  • Creation and adherence of annual Marketing Plan (targeted to niche markets) and annual Marketing Budget
  • Advertising 
    • Direct and oversee the creation and distribution of the following materials for each show and for the organization as a whole:
      • Radio
      • Print materials & signage
      • Television
      • Digital Ads
      • Direct Mail
      • Billboards
      • Digital Signage
      • Emails
      • Website
      • Press
      • Merchandise & Swag Items
      • Other media as deemed appropriate
  • Audience Engagement
    • Plan and coordinate as appropriate audience engagement activities and events to promote an engaging experience for the Renaissance patrons. Examples include Red Carpet Papparazzi, Moveable Feast Dinners, and Princess Tea Parties.
  • Social Media
    • Build and manage the company’s social media profiles and presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and additional channels that may be deemed relevant.
    • Create and curate shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and our content.
    • Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about our company, competitors, and/or industry, both from existing leads and customers as well as from brand new audiences.
    • Run regular social promotions and campaigns and track their success
    • Explore new ways to engage and identify new social networks to reach our target buyers.
  • Website
    • Manage updates and content
    • Work in partnership with DRM Productions to maintain and update as needed
  • Media Relations
    • Negotiate annual media contracts with local and national media partners
    • Drive down costs and increase value through negotiating media trades
    • Build relationships with area media outlets in order to increase and develop content-based coverage
  • Brand
    • Develop and communicate guidelines for brand adherence to staff
    • Serve as brand officer for all publications to ensure brand adherence and accuracy (proper use of logo, color scheme, voice, correct details, appropriate grammar, and spelling)
  • Inbound Marketing
    • Facilitate and create rich content that attracts a qualified audience
    • Grow new leads by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content
    • Optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and social
  • Staff Oversight
    • Oversee the operations of and professional development of Assistant Director of Marketing and Marketing Intern (as applicable)
    • Ensure that staff are supported with resources needed for job performance
    • Assign tasks, manage hours, and direct all marketing campaigns and creative content
  • Market Research
    • Conduct and analyze market research as needed to support the programs and marketing initiatives of the Renaissance
  • Programming
    • Assist with programming tasks to give insight into marketability and possible audiences for programs
    • Assist ensemble directors in titling and promoting shows in a manner aligned with the Renaissance brand
  • Communicate marketing endeavors with Renaissance staff and board members as needed through all channels necessary (emails, shared documents, meetings, phone calls, etc.)
  • Participate in community endeavors that are aligned with the mission and promote the Renaissance in the community

The Director of Marketing and Communications is a full-time position with occasional evening and weekend hours required. Salary range: $35,000-$50,000, commensurate with experience.

Founded in 1980 and established in the grand historic Renaissance Theatre, the Renaissance Performing Arts Association exists to celebrate the imagination in each of us by presenting and producing live performances and symphonic music in an historic venue and to enlighten and enhance lives through education and outreach in the community and beyond.
